A crispy Tex-Mex classic made with golden tortillas, refried beans, taco meat, zesty sauce, and melty cheese — all baked into a delicious Mexican-style pizza.
8 small flour tortillas (6–8 inch)
1 lb ground beef or turkey
1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade)
1 tbsp oil for frying
1 can refried beans (15 oz)
1 cup enchilada or taco sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
Optional toppings: diced tomatoes, olives, green onions, jalapeños, cilantro
Brown meat in skillet. Drain fat. Add taco seasoning and a splash of water. Simmer until thick.
Fry tortillas in oil or bake until crispy.
Warm refried beans until spreadable.
On one tortilla, layer beans and meat. Top with another tortilla.
Spread sauce on top, then sprinkle with cheese and toppings.
Bake at 400°F for 8–10 minutes until bubbly.
Slice and serve with garnish if desired.
Vegetarian: Skip meat and add beans or veggies.
Make ahead: Assemble and refrigerate before baking.
