1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion diced
3 cloves garlic minced
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 can crushed tomatoes 28 ounces
4 cups beef broth
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
8 lasagna noodles broken into pieces
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil or parsley optional
Heat oil in a large pot and brown meat.
Add onion and cook until softened, then stir in garlic.
Stir in tomato paste and cook briefly.
Add crushed tomatoes, broth, and seasonings. Simmer 10 to 15 minutes.
Add broken lasagna noodles and cook until tender.
