Crispy potato pancakes stuffed with savory seasoned meat. A delicious way to use up mashed potatoes for a filling, satisfying meal.
For the Dough:
2 cups cold mashed potatoes
1 egg
1/2–3/4 cup all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper
Optional: 1/4 cup grated cheese
For the Filling:
1 tbsp oil
1 onion, finely chopped
1 lb ground meat (beef, pork, or turkey)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
Optional: chopped parsley
For Frying:
2–3 tbsp vegetable oil
Cook onion in oil until soft. Add ground meat, garlic, and spices. Cook until browned. Let cool.
Mix mashed potatoes, egg, flour, and seasoning to form a soft dough.
Divide dough into portions. Flatten, add filling, seal, and reshape into patties.
Fry in oil until golden on both sides (3–4 min per side).
Serve with sour cream or dipping sauce.
Use chilled mashed potatoes for best texture.
Can be frozen raw or cooked.
Bake instead of frying for a lighter version.
