  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

  • 1/4 cup milk (optional)

  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (optional)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • In a skillet, brown ground beef with onion over medium-high heat. Drain fat if needed.

  • Stir in soup, milk, and optional vegetables or seasoning. Simmer 2–3 minutes.

  • Spread mixture in prepared dish. Top with shredded cheese.

  • Arrange frozen tater tots on top in a single layer.

  • Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until tots are golden and filling is bubbly.

  • Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
