A hearty, cheesy casserole with seasoned ground beef, creamy soup, and crispy golden tater tots. A nostalgic family favorite that’s quick, easy, and deeply satisfying.
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup milk (optional)
1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (optional)
1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a skillet, brown ground beef with onion over medium-high heat. Drain fat if needed.
Stir in soup, milk, and optional vegetables or seasoning. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
Spread mixture in prepared dish. Top with shredded cheese.
Arrange frozen tater tots on top in a single layer.
Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until tots are golden and filling is bubbly.
Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Add green beans, corn, or peas for more color and nutrition.
Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for extra-crispy tots.
Substitute turkey or plant-based meat for dietary preferences.
