Crispy fried chicken strips tossed in a bold, spicy chili garlic sauce with crisp vegetables for a fiery Indo-Chinese favorite.

Ingredients

1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast sliced into strips
1 egg
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Salt and black pepper to taste
Oil for frying
1 tablespoon oil for stir-frying
3 cloves garlic minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
1 small onion sliced
1 red bell pepper sliced
1 to 2 green chilies sliced
3 tablespoons red chili sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water optional
1 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Coat chicken with egg cornstarch flour salt and pepper.

  2. Fry in hot oil until golden and crispy then drain.

  3. Heat oil in skillet and sauté garlic and ginger.

  4. Add onion bell pepper and green chilies and stir-fry briefly.

  5. Mix chili sauce soy sauce honey and water then pour into skillet.

  6. Thicken with cornstarch slurry if desired.

  7. Add fried chicken and toss to coat evenly.

  8. Drizzle sesame oil and serve immediately.

Notes

Fry in batches to maintain crisp texture. Adjust chili sauce for desired heat level. Serve immediately for best crunch.
