Thai Basil Beef Rolls feature savory garlic-chili beef with fresh Thai basil and crisp vegetables wrapped in rice paper or lettuce.
1 pound ground beef
2 cloves garlic minced
1 small red chili thinly sliced
2 tablespoons fish sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
1 carrot julienned
1 small cucumber julienned
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro
8 rice paper sheets or lettuce leaves
1 tablespoon neutral oil if needed
Sauté garlic and chili in a skillet.
Add ground beef and cook until browned.
Stir in fish sauce, oyster sauce, and brown sugar. Simmer briefly.
Remove from heat and fold in Thai basil.
Soften rice paper in warm water.
Fill with beef and vegetables, then roll tightly.
Serve immediately with dipping sauce if desired.
Do not over-soak rice paper. Use fresh Thai basil for authentic flavor.
